Rosneft CEO: Russia to create genome database of 100,000 people
MOSCOW, Nov 17 (PRIME) -- Russia will create a database of genomes of 100,000 people stored on the servers in the country’s territory with the first volunteers being employees of oil major Rosneft, CEO Igor Sechin said on Wednesday.
“A large-scale voluntary population research will be held. We’ll start with own staff to define the reference genomes for different ethnicities of Russia,” Sechin said.
